Engler named chair of federal board

Engler Former Business Roundtable CEO John Engler has been appointed chair of a federal board that regularly issues reports about student performance in public schools. U.S. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos announced Sept. 28 that Engler had been named executive committee chair of the 26-member National Assessment Governing Board. He will serve a four-year term. Engler led BRT for six years and previously was CEO of the National Association of Manufacturers. He also spent 12 years as Michigan's governor. Read More
